In a big blow to Samsung and Google, a judge has banned the sale of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus in the US pending the outcome of a patent dispute with Apple.
The reasoning behind the judge on this decision is that she, Judge Lucy Koh, believed that Apple had a good chance of proving that Samsung infringed on the patents.
The ban of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus comes on the back of her also banning the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 last week.
To enforce this injunction, Apple will have to post a $100 million dollar bond which is a drop in the ocean for the world’s most valuable company. If Samsung win’s the case then this bond will go toward payments of damages.
In Australia, we are still able to purchase Samsung Galaxy Nexus plans however with Apple so keen to block Samsung, we may not have much longer to purchase their products before Australia goes the same way as the US.
